Did you know that this weekend would have been Dr Seuss's Birthday. He would have been 109 years old! As well as writing for children he also made adverts and films. He really wanted children to start reading early and this gave him his inspiration. Some of his books dealt with topical issues like Adolf Hitler and Nuclear Bombs! The Lorax was recently made into an animation movie for children! Have a look at "The Cat In The Hat" and "Horton Hears A Who!" in the school library.
